You can go to national treasure Inuyama Castle without transferring from Nagoya Station or Central Japan International Airport Centrair in Nagoya Railroad (Meitetsu).
It takes about 10-15 minutes on foot from JR Nagoya Station to Meitetsu Nagoya Station.
It takes about 100 minutes by Shinkansen from JR Tokyo Station to JR Nagoya Station, so you can make a day trip from Tokyo.

Get off at Inuyama Yuen Station, which is the nearest station to the Inuyama Castle Pleasure boat.

From Inuyama-Yuen Station, walk along the promenade lined with cherry blossom trees along the Kiso River and you will see Inuyama Castle in front of you. The row of cherry blossom trees and the scenery along the river are very pleasant, so this promenade is recommended.
After passing Sankoinari Shrine & Inuyama Shrine, you can purchase a ticket for Inuyama Castle Pleasure Boat at Inuyama Tourist Information(Inuyamashiromae Information Center).

You can see Inuyama Castle, which is built on a cliff, from below.The rows of cherry blossom trees along the Kiso River are spectacular.
The boat will proceed with the sightseeing information of the boatman. In addition to the cherry blossom season, cormorant fishing can be enjoyed from June, and autumn leaves can be enjoyed in autumn.

Climb up the slope from Inuyama Castle Port and arrive at Honmaru Gate.

When you pass through the gate, you will see Inuyama Castle.
Take off your shoes at the entrance to enter the keep. (You will receive a bag to put your shoes in.)
The stone wall is made of natural stone that has been piled up with almost no processing.
The Karahafu-no-ma is situated between the second floor ceiling and the watchtower.
You can go outside from the 4th floor of the castle tower and go around Mawari-en (cornice). You can enjoy the 360-degree view of the castle town and the Kiso River.
Another national treasure, Jo-an, is located next to Hotel Indigo Inuyama Urakuen, in the Japanese garden Urakuen. The entrance fee is 1,200 yen for adults and 1,600 yen with a tea ceremony.
Jo-an is one of the three surviving national treasure tea ceremonies. This is a tea room built by Urakusai Oda (younger brother of Nobunaga Oda) at Kenninji Temple in Kyoto.
In addition to the National Treasure Tea Room "Joan" and the Important Cultural Property "Former Shōdenin Shoin", there are other valuable buildings and gardens.
Here you can have matcha and Japanese sweets with the tea ceremony ticket. The tea utensils are Inuyama ware, and the Japanese confectionery is Urakufu, which is limited to Urakuen.
Late lunch at a shop in Honmaru Square.There are many other places in the castle town where you can have lunch and sweets.
Old townhouses and mansions remain, and it is a tasteful townscape. Head to Inuyama Station while strolling through the bustling castle town.
Walk for about 15 minutes and arrive at Inuyama Station. When you go up the stairs, there is an observation window and it says, "You can see Inuyama Castle on your right."

Let's go to Nagoya Castle.
Take the Meitetsu Inuyama Line from Inuyama Station, transfer to the Municipal Subway Tsurumai Line at Kamiotai Station, and get off at Sengen-cho Station. Go out from Exit 1, which is closest to Nagoya Castle, and walk for about 10 minutes.
A statue of Kiyomasa Kato, who was in charge of the stone walls of the main keep. If you go a little further, there is an entrance ticket office, and the viewing fee is 500 yen.
The Honmaru Palace was restored in June 2018, faithfully to historical facts, using traditional construction methods and materials. Take off your shoes at the entrance and put them in a lockable shoebox. Taking pictures without flash is OK. It's just a gorgeous world.
You can't go inside because it is closed (deterioration and earthquake resistance problems). A wooden restoration project is underway based on the remaining materials. (Completion is said to be in 2032 at the earliest)
On January 4, 2023, the station name was changed from Shiyakusho Station to Nagoya Castle Station.
Take the counterclockwise Meijo Line for one station, change to the Sakura-dori Line at Hisaya Odori Station, and get off at Nagoya Station. From exit 13, go to the underground mall ESCA.
Inou is one of the famous hitsumabushi restaurants.There are English and Chinese menus.
Hitsumabushi (chopped pieces of grilled eel on rice) was started by a long-established store in Nagoya. The way it is eaten is also unique to the Nagoya region, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
Inou recommends that customers eat it in these three ways.
The first bowl:as it is.
The second bowl:add seasonings such as wasabi, spring onions.
The third bowl:add seasonings and pour some broth on it, called “ochazuke” style.
